France has a long love story with flowers which can been seen & felt through its art, fashion, perfume and today in its cities, each one competing to get the label of “Ville fleurie” (cities voted best for their flowering borders). For the French, living in such towns is synonymous of quality, beauty & desirability.
The first time I heard about “Fleurs de villes” was on an Instagram post showcasing mannequins all dressed in petals, leaves, mosses… displayed in Pacific Place Downtown. Curious about the French name and the incredible talent displayed in each composition, I decided to do a little digging and what I learned made me even more besotted with these stunning creations.
Here is how they describe their work and purpose:
“Fleurs de Villes combines the love of flowers, local design talent, and bespoke, utterly unique displays, for experiential events like none other. Our name speaks to that – Fleurs de Villes”. “Connecting with each city we launch in, we work with top local florists, designers, growers and nurseries, to showcase that city’s world-class talent and create stunning displays of art.”
“We create engagement – with audiences viewing our events, and with the partners who support us, from leading sponsor brands to local and national media, as well as community-based groups.”
” An experience of the senses”
Fleurs de Villes is at the Convention Center this weekend for the Flower & Garden Festival. Follow them in their journey to unite cities in fragrances and colors in this calendar of events.
